Landscaping Update 2011                                     

It’s hard to believe that 2012 is already here!  Where did 2011 go?

To start I would like to THANK all those that volunteered in 2011 to help with the planting and upkeep of our property.  Crescent Village is a great place to live and it will continue to be with so many people who care about the environment that they live in.  This is our home and our yard.  I would hope that each and every resident would be proud to live here.  Thank you also to all the residents that planted flowers to help with the beautification of the property.  Please keep up the great work in 2012.  Please remember that some things should be approved by the Board.  If you have any questions, please feel free to attend our monthly Board meetings or email Pyramid with your concerns.  Also, please refer to our condo by-laws and make sure they are being followed with regard to garden ornaments/trellises and what is permitted. 

Please follow the policy of less is BETTER!

Enough for the public service announcements!  Needless to say 2011 had its share of weather challenges between snow, ice, and hurricanes our 2011 landscaping improvement budget had to be reassessed to do things that were more necessary than visually appealing.  A large portion of the budget was spent on the replacement of dead shrubs caused by the snowy winter and the cutting down of potentially hazardous trees caused by the hurricane and the October snow storm.  We did manage to make a few improvements.  You should have noticed that the entrance off of River Road was modified so that there would be a better view of oncoming traffic.  This was a small price to pay for everyone’s safety!  We were also able to replant one of the utility areas (Unit # 2).  The trees were getting too big and caused an issue with the utility wiring in that area.  We did reuse the trees in one of the open areas of the property, which add some needed green help to an area that did not have much going on.

The landscaping committee along with the board looks forward to again making additional improvements in 2012 to keep our property looking beautiful.  We have budgeted for addition utilities to have planting installed to create a more pleasing environment along with some improvements to our sprinkler system.

Please do your part in the upkeep of Crescent Village (your home) by picking up after the trash men if debris is left behind and securing all trash and recycle items so that they do not blow around.  Oops there I go again with the public service announcement.   If you see or have an issue with the sprinklers, please report it to the management company (Pyramid) as soon as possible.  Do not assume it has already been reported.  We do not have an on sight maintenance person so if we all do our part to help in some way, it will surely protect our investment.
